At TLC Care, we are looking for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional care. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the physical, emotional and social well-being of residents within our Cherry Hinton Care Home. You will also take on a leadership role within the team, guiding care assistants and coordinating with healthcare professionals, GPs, family members and residents themselves to develop tailored care plans.

Main Purpose of the Role

As a Nurse at TLC Care:

Main Responsibilities

Care Management and Planning

  • Collaborate with residents, family members, GPs and other healthcare professionals to create and maintain individualized care plans.

  • Provide health assessments and direct nursing care as needed.

  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of residents’ health and social needs.

  • Administer medications according to NMC guidelines, documenting every action accurately.

  • Serve as the named nurse for a set group of residents and act as their primary healthcare advocate.

Tissue Viability Responsibilities

  • Maintain a zero-pressure-sore policy within the care home.

  • Identify residents at risk and create care plans to prevent skin breakdown.

  • Report any incidents of pressure sores to appropriate clinical managers and log for monitoring.

  • Promote best practices in pressure ulcer prevention and management.

Nutrition Oversight

  • Ensure residents are nutritionally assessed using the MUST tool monthly.

  • Monitor and document food and fluid intake for at-risk residents.

  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to implement any special dietary requirements.

Infection Control

  • Adhere to TLC Care’s infection prevention policies.

  • Lead by example, maintaining hygiene best practices.

Resident Hygiene and Grooming

  • Ensure all residents maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.

Mobility and Safety Support

  • Promote independent movement for all residents where possible.

  • Ensure mobility aids are functional and accessible.

Respect and Dignity

  • Always address residents by their preferred names.
